Recordings from Uganda
In March of 2017, I spent a month in Uganda on residency with the Boutiq Foundation. We travelled through the east and north of the country documenting traditional music groups. We also spent a week in Gulu working with Otim Alpha and Lewyo Palayang working on improvising techniques in their electronic studio, where they make electronic versions of traditional Acholi rhythms for Otim's original songs. Currently I am mixing the recordings of traditional music and making remixes of the surrounding soundscapes for forthcoming releases on Nyege Nyege Tapes.
